zinc thiocyanate is an organozinc compound with the formula Zn(SCN)2. It is a white deliquescent powder or crystal. It is soluble in water and alcohol, and slightly acidic. It is used in analytical chemistry, as a swelling agent for cellulose esters, and as a dyeing assistant.

Nickel sulfide/graphitic carbon nitride/strontium titanate (NiS/g-CN/SrTiO) composites exhibit enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production activity.

The sorption behavior of zinc(II) thiocyanate complex on polyurethane foam (PUF) has been investigated under different composition and concentrations of electrolyte, thiocyanate and PUF. The sorption data showed that the Langmuir and Dubinin-Radushkevich sorption isotherms are obeyed in the entire range of concentration studied. Sulphate and ascorbate ions enhance the sorption but bromide, nitrite and Pb(II) ions decrease the sorption significantly.

Formation and extraction equilibria of the zinc(II) thiocyanate ions in the aqueous solution have also been studied. The ion-extraction constants for the first and second complexes into chloroform containing b-isopropyl tropolone (IPT), into hexane containing triethylphosphine oxide (TOPO) and into methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) have been determined.
